Our Impact
Rainbow Giving Australia is committed to having a transformative impact on the LGBTIQA+ sector in Australia.
The programs that we are bringing together under the Rainbow Giving Australia banner have a long track record of doing just that. You can read more about our strategic priorities and theory of change here.
Before the formation of Rainbow Giving Australia, GiveOUT and Aurora had collectively distributed over $4 million to 200 LGBTQIA+ community organisations and initiatives.
Our support predominantly reaches organisations on the frontline, who are unable to develop programs of the size and scale required to meet traditional funding opportunities. The majority of these organisations are volunteer-led, and operate on less than $10,000/year.

Beyond Bricks and Bars
Beyond Bricks and Bars is a peer-led, community project that provides direct support to trans and gender diverse people in prison, at risk of incarceration and those returning to their communities from prison.
Rainbow Giving Australia has raised and granted $90,000 to Beyond Bricks and Bars over the past two years, via GiveOUT Day and the Amplify Pride Fund.
With these funds, Beyond Bricks & Bars were able to bring on a second outreach worker, which has proven critical to supporting their network of 49 currently or formerly incarcerated trans and gender diverse people. With this support, they also successfully secured a number of government grants, including $230,000 from the Victorian Government Department of Health.
I cannot overstate how vital GiveOUT Day’s support has been to our project. It was literally the lifeline that kept us afloat last year at a very dire financial time and has continued to enable us to not only sustain, but grow our capacity to support and advocate alongside our community.
Witt Gorrie Coordinator & Senior Social Worker, Beyond Bricks & Bars
Inclusive Rainbow Voices
Inclusive Rainbow Voices is a human rights organisation by and for LGBTQIA+ people with disability. Since their formation in 2022, they have quickly established themselves as the ‘go-to’ organisation and national voice for LGBTQIA+ disability matters in Australia.
Rainbow Giving Australia has raised and granted $125,000 to Inclusive Rainbow Voices over the past two years, via GiveOUT Day, Amplify Pride and Ignite Pride Grants.
This includes $40,000 in start-up funding from the Amplify Pride Fund in 2022 that enabled Inclusive Rainbow Voices to recruit their CEO, who has driven the development and implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan, conducted a national consultation with 150+ LGBTQIA+ people with disability, upskilled LGBTQIA+ and disability community organisations on accessibility, and advocated for the rights and interests of LGBTQIA+ people with disability to the government.
With our support, Inclusive Rainbow Voices also successfully secured an additional $125,000 from three other funders.
Funding from Amplify Pride Fund allowed IRV to go from an idea on paper into a living, thriving organisation. It gave us the ability to operationalise our vision. We knew the demand was there but we have been overwhelmed by just how much demand there is for our organisation.

Trans Justice Project
Trans Justice Project (TJP) is the first national, trans-led campaigning organisation in Australia. Their mission is to build a powerful, trans-led movement fighting for freedom, justice, and equality for all trans and gender diverse people.
Rainbow Giving Australia has raised and granted $113,000 to Trans Justice Project over the past two years, via GiveOUT Day and Ignite Pride.
This funding helped TJP conduct an anti-trans disinformation project by supporting them to employ their first staff member, investigate anti-trans disinformation tactics, and develop a findings report and associated resources.
With this support from GiveOUT and Aurora, Trans Justice Project successfully secured an additional $10,000 from the Australian Communities Foundation.
[Amplify Pride Fund] support has been invaluable. It allowed me to focus full-time on building this organisation at a time where this work is incredibly urgent. Funding allowed us the capacity to develop a clear strategy to ensure we stay focused on our mission and not be reactive. I am just very grateful for the support you have shown this work and our community.

Sydney Queer Muslims
Sydney Queer Muslims (SQM) is a volunteer-based not-for-profit organisation that supports queer Muslims throughout Greater Sydney. They are committed to advocating for people of diverse sexualities and genders, to help reconcile their sexual identity with their faith.
Rainbow Giving Australia has raised and granted Sydney Queer Muslims around $68,000 since 2001, via GiveOUT Day, Amplify Pride and Aurora Grants.
With this funding, SQM has been able to employ a part-time social worker to help queer Muslims navigate mental health and family violence services, as well as to build core organisational capacity and create resources for healthcare providers, counsellors and other support staff working with LGBTQIA+ Muslim clients.
