Grant Principles
We seek to embody Rainbow Giving Australia’s values through our grant making practice in the following ways.
RGA Value 1 - LGBTQIA+ community-centred: Our communities know what we need to thrive; that’s why they’re at the heart of everything we do.
RGA Granting Principle 1 - Our grant-making is community-led and high-trust. Tailored to what works best for our community partners, we prioritise making good decisions, building strong relationships, listening, and continuous learning, which we actively share and apply.
RGA Value 2 - Reliable: We build and keep a foundation of trust based on honesty, openness and getting things done.
RGA Granting Principle 2 - Our grants are accessible and decisions are based on evidence, with clear, transparent criteria. We follow through on our commitments and share the results.
RGA Value 3 - Courageous: In honour of those whose shoulders we stand on, we are brave in challenging the status quo.
RGA Granting Principle 3 -As well as funding what we know works, we support those willing to take risks and drive bold solutions to the systemic issues holding our communities back. We know this kind of change takes time and we’re there for the long term.
RGA Value 4 - Equitable: We fight for equality for all, prioritising the communities that need us most.
RGA Granting Principle 4 - We prioritise funding for under-resourced LGBTQIA+ populations, and ensure fair access to funding opportunities for these groups.
RGA Value 5 - Collaborative: We’re stronger when we work together. We create shared solutions and inspire a movement around our vision.
RGA Granting Principle 5 - We actively seek partnerships with other funders, organisations, and community partners to leverage resources, share expertise, and maximise impact. We provide support beyond funding to help our community partners succeed, and connect with one another.

The expression of interest form linked below is combined for Amplify, Ignite Pride, and our joint grant with Pride Foundation Australia. It will take you about 10 minutes to complete, and asks you to briefly tell us about you, your organisation, the problem you are trying to solve, and your proposed use of funds. We will assess all EOI against these guidelines, and invite successful applicants to submit a full proposal and budget.
