With GiveOUT Day less than 48 hours away, we wanted to write to you personally with a reminder of what’s at stake and why it matters so much.
LGBTQIA+ causes across Australia support the safety, belonging and wellbeing of our communities. They offer legal advice, connect people with care, advocate for our rights and create spaces where we can be ourselves. They preserve our histories, pave the way for what’s next and much, much more.
Community work helps improve, and often literally saves, people's lives. Yet it doesn’t receive the support it deserves.
54% of LGBTQIA+ causes operate on less than $50,000 a year
74% told us demand for their services has grown in the past 12 months
Only 5 cents in every $100 donated in Australia goes to LGBTQIA+ causes
