In June 2000, the Aurora Group kicked off its very first fundraising dinner at Paddington Town Hall in Sydney, honouring Stonewall and rallying support for the LGBTQIA+ community sector. Fast forward to today, that humble gathering has blossomed into the iconic Aurora Ball, a highlight of Sydney's LGBTQIA+ calendar.

The Aurora Ball is a vibrant celebration of community, bringing together allies and friends to raise essential funds for our grants program, that support and empower LGBTQIA+ not-for-profit organisations, initiatives and leaders. It’s a night filled with joy, connection, and fun!

Each June, guests enjoy a stellar lineup of diverse LGBTQIA+ hosts and entertainers, along with fantastic networking opportunities, the fabulous silent auction, thrilling raffles, and an exciting moment of live pledges. Of course, the Best Dressed Competition always showcases jaw-dropping creativity. With a unique theme each year, the looks are nothing short of spectacular.

In 2024, Aurora proudly raised an incredible $220,499 for their transformative grant programs , and Rainbow Giving Australia is excited to welcome you to the Aurora Ball in June 2025!
