This iconic night of rainbow celebration and community power will feature artists who bring glamour, grace, and electric energy to the stage. Whether you’re here for operatic brilliance, bold burlesque, or late-night beats, this year’s entertainment promises unforgettable moments.
Meet the stars joining us at the Aurora Renaissance Ball:
Angela Hogan (she/her)
Angela Hogan is a much-lauded Sydney-based mezzo-soprano, whose vocal range and striking performances have earned her a reputation as one of Australia’s most diverse and powerful performers. Now with Opera Australia, Angela has performed in such acclaimed roles as Madame De La Haltière in Cendrillon, Flora Bervoix in La Traviata, as Frugola, La Zia Principessa and La Ciesca in Il Trittico, and as Carmen in Carmen, where she has won the attention of critics.

Thomas Johnson (he/him)
One of Australia’s most highly-skilled and experienced opera repetiteurs and art song recitalists, Thomas Victor Johnson returned to Sydney in 2023 after four seasons at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin where he worked regularly with world-renowned opera conductors and singers. Appearing regularly with Opera Australia and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, he also holds a teaching position at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and presents recitals and masterclasses both within Australia and internationally.

Mama Medusa (she/they)
Mama Medusa is a voluptuous vixen ready to turn you to stone. Known for going from slow and sultry to dangerous and daring within a second, there’s never a dull moment with this creature. Mama Medusa also runs and manages their own burlesque / movement courses, highlighting moving your body in its own power and spreading that across themed performance troupe, act and skill development classes, floor work and chair work courses.
DJ Charlie Villas (she/they)
Charlie Villas is a renowned DJ, music curator, event producer and fashionista, celebrated for her dynamic sets that blend genres and take dance floors on a journey. Originally from the Philippines, she now splits her time in the stunning Blue Mountains and Newtown, Sydney’s beating heart of creativity, counterculture and community. As co-producer of Club Sandwich, a queer strip club and performance night, Charlie continues to champion the QTIPOC community. In 2025, she headlined Sydney Mardi Gras events, and last year, curated the official festival mix for Apple Music with “Kiki with ChaCha.”
