How can Australia build a community-led, resilient funding model for LGBTIQ+ equality, inclusion, and safety?

Rainbow Giving Australia CEO, Em Scott, recently received a Churchill Fellowship to research what Australia could learn from the US and UK about increasing philanthropic funding for LGBTIQ+ communities.

LGBTIQ+ communities in Australia and globally continue to face stigma, discrimination, and unequal rights.

The LGBTIQ+ community sector—led by and embedded within these communities—is best placed to address these systemic challenges, yet remains chronically underfunded.

Em’s research found nine, key recommendations for those stakeholders of LGBTIQ+ ecosystems.

The report, How can Australia build a community-led, resilient funding model for LGBTIQ+ equality, inclusion, and safety? is now available to read with more opportunities to learn and engage with the research coming soon.

“Australia should interpret the lessons from this report as both a warning, to prepare and build resilience, as well as a real opportunity to forge a path that “meets the moment” and positions us as a global leader in LGBTIQ+ equality, generosity, and social cohesion.”
