Niki Bhattacharya (she/her)
Administrative Coordinator
Niki is a queer woman driven by a love for community, and for contributing to building inclusive and supportive systems. She draws on a background in music therapy and experience providing administrative support in care-bases spaces to bridge gaps in understanding and empower the voices of those around her. Niki has championed these values during 7+ years of work providing administrative support in a range of industries, including healthcare, design, technology, and NFPs. Most recently, she supported the coordination of Vinnies' CEO Sleepout 2024 which raised over $2.5 million dollars to support those experiencing homelessness in NSW. She is excited to join the GiveOUT and Aurora team to contribute to their vision of a vibrantly diverse and compassionate world.
Niki's work in music therapy largely focused on providing trauma-informed support to children in residential care. Her experience in this space informs her understanding of the complexity of identity exploration and some of the challenges that arise in this. She is passionate about using arts, culture and communication to explore the issues that diverse communities face when exploring and expressing their identities. Outside of work you can find her performing and making art at events across the Australian east coast, and volunteering in harm reduction spaces to provide education and support to patrons of music festivals. She is a regular in spaces that challenge stigmas by celebrating authenticity, and hopes to channel music and art to inspire ferocity in self exploration and expression.
